Berks Packing Slicing Facility

In order to quickly respond to expanding needs for their quick service food clients, this food processing plant expanded into its only remaining building on campus, previously used for dry storage. The building was converted into a state-of-the-art slicing facility. Insulated refrigeration panels were used to create the necessary environment within the existing building shell. The structure was modified to accommodate refrigeration equipment and floor insulation requirements. Existing covered loading docks were moved forward to the building façade to maximize the interior area. New employee break and locker rooms are provided as well as a reconfigured dry storage area. This project received an Award of Merit for Industrial $2 – $10 Million from the Associated Builders and Contractors, Keystone Chapter.
