WHO WE ARE

Our vision is to be a leader in the construction industry with operational excellence through innovative solutions, people and performance while adhering to our core values of Safety, Service, and Integrity.

Safety

We have built a culture that starts all it does with safety in mind. The only acceptable number of incidents is zero — and we work continuously toward that goal.

At Dolan, we hold the safety of our employees in the highest regard and it is our greatest responsibility.  The priority of safety not only involves the work which we perform but also the family to whom our employees go home to every night.  We have a duty to each employee to provide a safe work environment. The safe work environment extends well beyond employees to cover subcontractors, visitors, owners and the public in and around our jobsites.

Our expectation is that the first thought for everyone on our jobsites is safety

At Dolan, we foster an environment where all employees watch out for one another, speak up regarding issues, stop work as necessary to prevent or eliminate incidents and put safety first in their duties.

Our unwavering focus on safety benefits our customers too. A safe site contributes to a well-organized project that stays on schedule and fosters an environment where high quality standards are met.

To achieve zero incidents at the jobsite you need strong leadership. Dolan Construction employees provide the necessary leadership in safety. All field employees receive the degree of health and safety training necessary to obtain a level of knowledge and skills to consistently perform their job in a safe manner. We hold subcontractors and suppliers responsible for compliance with all safety standards and requirements.

Over the course of several decades, our Pennsylvania Certified Workplace Safety Committee has been developing and improving our standard for safety.  Dolan Construction participates in the Associated Builders and Contractors Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) program; a safety benchmarking and improvement tool which has allowed our Safety Committee to analyze and further develop our safety programs, goals and safety culture. Dolan Construction is also a member of ISNetworld which collects health and safety, procurement, quality, and regulatory information for assessment and verification of data for clients to use an integral part of their hiring process.

Dolan Construction remains steadfast in our safety culture and we expect all who work with us to rise to our strong standards.

At Dolan, our number one commitment is the safety of our team, and our number one goal is zero incidents. Safety is job #1. We want to ensure every worker goes home in the same condition as they arrived.”
-Patrick Dolan, President

CULTURE

We are inspired every day to build quality projects for the region and communities in which we live. We have a built a culture around a safe working environment in which we operate. Our goal is to achieve great buildings while creating an exceptional customer experience.

Our culture is one of team building (pun intended). We bring each other up, help each other out. We collaborate with subcontractors, building officials, and owners for productive and innovative solutions.

Construction is hard enough, we’ve learned to have fun on the job without compromise to safety or quality.

We have learned through our successes and more so from our failures.

COMMUNITY

We believe it’s important to be an active part of your community and Dolan Construction is proud to be able to contribute to many community endeavors. Some examples of our more memorable endeavors have included projects such as the Extreme Home Makeover Project. An annual follow up to that project is the Restoring Hope Foundation’s annual build – a small version of the extreme type of project.

HISTORY

Dolan Construction was founded July 15, 1977, to service the construction needs of commerce and industry within the Berks County Area. The company formed as a merit-shop, design/build, general contracting firm.

Joseph E. Dolan founded the company on simple principles of hard work and ingenuity. Two of his children have carried those traditions forward in the second generation of the company. Maureen S. Dolan, Treasurer, joined the company in 1989 and Patrick J. Dolan, President, came on board in 2001 to oversee operations of the company.

Throughout its history, Dolan Construction has been involved in a diverse range of work from heavy industry, commercial, and healthcare, to the finest of churches and historic preservation projects. This work history, along with more traditional building types, demonstrate a rich history of work. Today we continue to demonstrate unique management abilities and incorporate a diverse contemporary project portfolio.
